WC: My Road Taken

I often think about the choices that have led me to the life I now lead.  I think we all ask the “what if” questions.. how would our lives have turned out differently if just one choice in our past went left instead of right?

I’d say I’m glad it didn’t, as I love my life, and I wouldn’t want it to be anything other than it is.  However, I get the feeling if I had made different choices, it would have molded me into a different person, and that person would have loved that life just as much as this person now loves this.  I can’t really say for sure.

In the end, this is the road taken, shaped and carved of gravel, grass, cement, dirt, sand, stone, pavement.  It has been coarse and beautiful, never straight and seldom clear.  It’s been a steep incline with a few sudden drops.  While I’ve shared that trail with countless others throughout my travels, no one else in the world has taken this same path.  I am proud to call it my own, and I’ll continue to blaze it (as I am wont to do).

There have been surprises, sadness, challenges, and laughter – so much laughter.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  And it isn’t over yet.
