Happy Friday, everyone!  This has been a good week.

This first image was from one of our canopy tours in Costa Rica.  It was also my submission for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness.  I just liked the patterns of the many fronds.

This is a colorful shot of our beautiful Oregon coast.  We didn’t get a very spectacular showing from the sun itself that evening, but I still liked the clouds all bathed in pastels.

This was from a local trip to Sauvie Island to shoot some morning sandhill cranes.  I didn’t get as many great wildlife pictures as some of my fellow photographers, but I kinda liked this one as they flew overhead.  This was also from my post responding to this week’s photo challenge, “scale.”

Next, a landscape of a chilly river in Denali National Park, Alaska.  This was just off of the Savage River Trail, after we braved the alpine hike.  This was an excellent cool-down hike.

Ah, fall…  How I love thee!  The colors are in full force all around me, though I haven’t really gotten out to shoot it much (rain came with the cooler weather).  I look forward to the next dry day to get out and capture autumn in her full splendor.

This one is from a local Gorge hike.  It’s so cool how this waterfall forms an X on the hillside.  Of course, these adventurers found our way up to the top; it was fun to explore.

This is also the photo I selected as the response to my very own monthly photo challenge.  I’m very excited to finally be starting this, and I hope you’ll join me.  They’re fun, flexible, and musical!  Check out all the details here as to how to submit your own images.

Lastly is a scene from the lava fields in Hawaii.  This lone tree in the middle of nowhere bespeaks of perseverance and ambition.  And believe it or not, the sun was actually shining like that; I didn’t add artificial highlights.

These photos were all posted on my Instagram this week.  I welcome you all to follow me on social media as well, and please leave a comment below.  I’d love to hear from you!
