Another week has flown by!  This one was really crazy, following Thanksgiving last week.  On top of wrapping up Kumoricon pictures, there’s no time to slow down!

I did a few more grid photos this week on Instagram.  How do you like them?

This first one was from the train ride to Denali National Park.  I’m a sucker for reflections, and those low clouds added an extra dynamic.

Next is a photo from my 3rd day backpacking in the Alaskan bush.  This day saw our first true bear encounters, and though it was really windy, it was a very rewarding day.  Read the first installment here.

This was my black-and-white submission last week for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness.  The waves at Hawaii’s South Point were incredible.  The vast power of the Pacific was truly humbling.

I appreciate the basic simplicity to this photo.  I love autumn, and the span of colors on this leaf are beautiful in a way only fall can be.

Next, back to Hawaii for this one.  This sunset picture was taken atop the summit of Mauna Kea.  It’s a different world up there.

I really struggled with choosing my favorites out of these top three.  I love the abstract nature of this photo, made only with a single motion while taking the long exposure.  I’m quite happy with how it turned out.

One photo had to bubble to the top, and I ultimately couldn’t help but choose this one, despite its technical flaws.  This was one of my very favorite photos ten years ago, and I still love it today.  I love the colors and the rapt attention of my stalwart subject, Zoe.  You can see more examples of how my photography has changed (or not) over the past decade here.
