Good morning, and happy Monday, yet again! The weather is warming, and I’m getting out to shoot more, which is great! Look forward to more adventures coming to my site; be sure to follow my blog to keep up to date with all the latest.
You should notice this set all have a consistent look. I’m trying this out for a bit to see how it pans out. What do you think?
I also realized there sure are a lot of beaches this week. I assure you, that was not intentional! Interesting how these things turn out…
This first image was from my trip to Alaska. We backpacked 26 miles along this shore, across sand, pebbles, rocks, and boulders. We saw bald eagles, foxes, moose tracks, and plenty of bears. You can read all about that amazing trip here.
Next, a scene from the Oregon coast and my submission for this week’s Monochrome Madness by Leanne Cole. I love that the coast has so many different beaches to explore. And with 300 miles of public coastline, one never gets bored.
Now, coincidentally, I have a few images from Hawaii. They all just happened to be grouped together. This first one was from our first day there. It was a bit stormy, which lent a unique texture to the scene. We wouldn’t miss an opportunity to hit the beach, so we ventured out anyway. The result was photos like this.
This was a fun discovery. While everyone else was shooting the sunset, I found this mass of concrete tetrapods. They seemed so random, I couldn’t help but photograph them.
Next, another sunset. You get many of those in Hawaii, and they’re all beautiful.

Finally, it’s no surprise that my two favorite photos from this week are from our recent trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. This was from Zion – the classic Canyon Overlook view. We were trying for sunrise, but we got rained out. It still worked out alright, and we even got a fun surprise. You can read that story here.
And I just noticed the clouds appear to contain a little smiley face. Do you see it? The clouds were just happy to be raining 🙂
Lastly, Bryce was an easy choice for my top pick this week, especially since it was my Biweekly Wow. You can see the original photos and read the story behind them right here.
These photos first appeared on my Instagram. I welcome you to follow me there as well, and as always, I’d love to hear your comments below!
