I love shooting landscapes and anime conventions, but I also spend a lot of time on my computer at home editing photos. And amidst the routine button presses and artistic tweaks, I’m inevitably distracted. While I can usually remain rather focused, I have found our sweet (evil) Mochi has the power to draw my attention with her deceiving cuteness.
I seem to be on a cat streak with my posts as of late.. but can you blame me? They’re so photogenic! Both real and virtual, I love the little fuzzballs through and through; I never tire of their entertaining, quirky ways.
Our little family was broken last year when we had to say goodbye to our sweet Zoe, a maine coon/tabby mix who brightened my home for nearly half my life. Now it is healing with the addition of a new terror on four paws… Meet Mochi!
I am an incurable photographer. Even when not behind a camera, I see the world through a camera lens. Ooh, the reflections there are really cool! If I align myself just so, that would make for a really interesting perspective.. I love the colors there!

It takes practice, but you, too, can become an effective member of the tardy workforce. These are the key elements conducive to photographic slacking: Continue reading
Over 27,110 pictures taken this year.. how do I choose the best?? Somehow I managed to pare it down to my top 50 (that was so hard!!).
Day 5 saw some gentle wandering through Asakusa, our first shrines, mouth-watering food, and cats. Every day brings new adventures; there’s no opportunity to get bored!
We began the day with a train ride to Ueno. Our priority was to get postcards out as soon as possible (knowing they’d likely arrive after we returned to the States), so we sought out a post office, passing the line to pachinko and wandering the Ameyoko Market in the meantime. Continue reading
In less than four days, we will embark on an epic adventure to parts unknown (to us, anyway). We are making our last-minute notes on where to find the best okonomiyaki and brushing up on our kanji. Yep, while others will be collecting candy and traversing dark haunted houses, we will be en route to the Land of the Rising Sun.
Japan! Continue reading
