I’m excited to be getting well into our Denali adventures, so understandably, this week, Instagram featured several shots from that trip. But I try to keep some variety, so there’s a taste of a few other destinations as well this week.
First, a nighttime shot of our resort in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. I simply loved this view, both day and night.
Next, a sprinkling of Yosemite. As the weather is turning cooler, I’m beginning to think about our next winter national park trip. Everything is prettier with snow, and I love the lack of tourists. Perhaps Yellowstone this time?
From one national park to another, here’s Denali National Park in Alaska. It was clouded in so we couldn’t see the famed massive mountain, but I did love the foggy effect the clouds had on the lesser mountain peaks.
Next, our first bear! We were excited to see this grizzly right from our bus, and this was the closest we got to these titans of the wilderness.
This is another shot from our secret cliff discovery on the Oregon Coast. We’re curious to find our way to that obviously more-traveled trail across the way, but I was happy to have our little outcropping all to ourselves.
I really like how these last two turned out. This one was near the end of our hike along the Savage Alpine Trail in Denali, and these rocks were just too photogenic to pass up. And those clouds lent such beautiful light! I was in photographic heaven.
And lastly, I couldn’t help but pick this one as my favorite this week. It started as more of a joke, but I actually grew to really like the result. And I’m proud to have created something I feel is pretty unique from a subject so insanely photographed. This was my response to this week’s challenge, “layered,” and you can read it here.
