Photo of the Week: Zombies!

Every year around this time, as Halloween looms on the horizon, the undead emerge in droves.  Around here, there are walks, pub crawls, 5k runs, and – of course – dancing.  I partook in the Thrill the World dance a few years ago, donning the torn garments, the pale makeup, and the fake blood (and even some real blood!).  I learned all of the moves and joined the masses around the world all dancing to Michael Jackson in sync.  Aaron passed on the dance but was happy to limp and moan his way with me down the city streets.

This year, I chose to simply shoot zombies, instead 🙂

Photo of the Week: Candid Portraits

While I love beautiful scenic shots, my favorite type of shooting is candid portraits.  A lot of people become self-conscious when a lens is pointed in their direction, or they ask if they need to get out of your shot.  This makes these moments difficult to capture.. but all the more rewarding.

Photo of the Week: My Commute

I wake up at 5am every day (yes, even weekends).  This means I always get to see the sunrise, which is a real treat, especially when Waterfront Park is almost completely devoid of all human life, save for the most devout joggers.  I am fortunate to work close enough to home to be able to walk every morning, and this is my commute.

Photo of the Week: Supermoon Eclipse

I’ve noticed my posts tend to run a bit longer than I want or anticipate.  So, in an effort to mix it up and put more focus on the photography, I’m going to try adding something new: photo of the week!  This will highlight a picture I particularly like that week.  It most likely will have been taken in the past week, but I can’t always promise that.  In this case, it was 🙂

The world looked to the skies Sunday night for this spectacular celestial event, and I knew I wouldn’t miss it!  While it probably would have been better at some obscure campground with limited light pollution, I did the best I could with a Sunday evening.  I’m also learning that if I want to do more of this type of photography, it’s time for me to upgrade my telephoto.  Priorities!
