Alright folks, I think we’re due for some changes around here.
Newsletter
First, I want to bring to your attention something new on my site. You may have noticed a blue “subscribe” button at the end of each post. (There’s another in the sidebar if you’re viewing my site on a desktop/laptop.) I would love love love to connect with my readers in a more personal way, so I have started a monthly newsletter!
How is this different from the blog? My blog is typically months behind the actual events. Our desert road trip was back in September, but I’ve only just finished pushing out all the posts from that trip. While my posts provide more detail, a newsletter is my way of giving you the latest scoop on recent and upcoming adventures, well before I’ll get to it on the blog.
Also, I’d like to share exclusive photos with you and explain how I created them – start to finish – a little behind-the-scenes. This would provide you with some insight into my process and could prove useful, especially if you’re an aspiring photographer.
And I have a few more ideas I might cycle through.

Narrowing my scope
Next, I have long struggled with focus on my blog – I just want to write about everything! But I’d like to narrow it down again and bring it back to photography.
Therefore, I am going to try to move away from the travel that I feel has been kind of taking over my posts. Instead, I’d like to focus more on more specific photo stories, showcasing a few images and regaling fun anecdotes of what was happening behind the camera at the time. As I’ve mentioned before, I have such strong connections to my photos, mostly because of the events of which they remind me. I’d like to try to share some of that with you, instead of recounting travel itineraries.
Photo stories will be fairly similar, just not as long or in-depth. And I’ll still write about hikes and local excursions here.
New blog!
But what about all my fun travels? Fear not! They aren’t going away… they’re just moving. Aaron and I have decided to take the plunge and travel the world for a year (exciting, right??), so we wanted a place where we can keep everyone updated on our adventures. Introducing…. (drum roll, please)….
We have a shiny new blog that we’ll both be contributing to weekly. There, you’ll find all the fun travel stories you’ve grown to love here, but this will also give us the room to expand our content to include travel tips and steps to make long-term world travel a reality (as we figure it out, ourselves!).
I invite you to follow that blog as well, so you can keep up to date with our journey preparing for this wild endeavor and join us in our worldly adventures!

New content
In addition to my new photo stories, I’ll continue my weekly photo challenges on Sundays. But I’d also love to host my own challenge. I have a fun idea for one, but I’ll need submissions! Tell your photographer friends, and stay tuned for more information.
