We recently took a trip to the Palouse with some photo friends (which I’ll cover in an upcoming post), and between the towns of Dayton and Colfax, just outside the tiny speck-on-the-map of Dusty, we came across this charming little cemetery. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, and we only stumbled upon it because we were seeking a gas station and accidentally drove too far.
It was the gate the first drew us in, but it was the many unique gravestones that piqued our curiosities. (more…)
I see many unusual things on my daily commute. I’ve always had a penchant for noticing the unusual, and while that might garner some quizzical glances from passersby, more often than not, I’m pleased by the results.
The simple, odd finds make my day-to-day life more interesting. People are interesting. Their stories are interesting. And these tiny mementos they leave behind are insights into fragments of their tales.
One of my favorite parts of going on photo excursions is discovering small oddities. Something unusual that catches my eye and stands out from the ordinary. This was one such find. (more…)
