I’m keeping it simple this week; just four new photos on
500px.
I can’t believe we’re already halfway through October. Time inexorably slips by, and it just seems to go faster with each passing year. But it is my favorite time of year: autumn! We got out this weekend for some local fall color, so look for some of those pictures coming really soon!

This first picture was from our trip to Crater Lake. We camped in a cabin at the nearby Diamond Lake, and with a chilly evening (we had a blizzard at the lake) and clear skies predicted the following morning, I had a hunch we’d get some morning mist. I pried myself out of bed, and I was rewarded with this beautiful morning scene. You can read all about
that day here.

Next, this was from another trip, this time to Yosemite National Park. A friend wanted to visit in the wintertime, and I took the chance to tag along. Best decision ever! While much of the park was closed for the season, we weren’t tripping over tourists, and we had spectacular landscapes all dusted in snow. Now, I’m in love with wintertime national parks. We went to
Bryce and Zion this past winter, and we’re already brainstorming where we’ll go this year. Which national park is your favorite?

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted any eclipse photos, so I thought it was time to revisit one. This is the iconic “diamond ring” shot, and it’s one of my favorites from last year’s Great American Eclipse. That was an adventure in itself; you can
read all about that here.

So, surprisingly, the eclipse photo was not my favorite this week. Instead, I’m fully in an autumn mood. I love the symmetry of this image from the
Boardman Tree Farm, nearly gone now. I absolutely
love the colors of fall; it’s nature’s swan song. I have more plans for fall color shooting while the weather is nice and before the rain sets in. Which is your favorite season?
All wonderful photos, Brianna. Just love the tree farm image. Enticing to the eye. <3
Thank you, Olga! I’m a sucker for autumn colors, so I’m a bit biased in my favorite for this week 😉
