Happy Friday!
This week, I went back to some variety. Alaska, Yosemite.. even a touch of Hawaii and something local. So let’s get to it!
This first image is from my post this week on the endless Alaskan daylight. While I do love my sunshine, it’s a bit disruptive to my circadian rhythm to be deprived of so many hours of darkness. You can read that post here.
Next, another from Alaska – this time from the backpacking half. This was also late night, around 9:30pm, after our long first day of hiking. There are no bad views in Alaska.
This is from a different national park, Yosemite. We got up early to catch sunrise on El Capitan. The day was a bit bright for any decent skies, but I was still in awe of my surroundings.
From one frozen mountain to another… This one is much closer to home: Mt. Hood. This was at the end of our snowshoeing hike, and these little birds wouldn’t leave us to our lunches.. especially after we gave them some crumbs.. doh! This one was my submission last week to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness, another beautiful scene from Yosemite. I’m certainly no Ansel Adams, but I do love this magnificent park in black and white.
Next, back to Alaska! This was actually taken from the train back from Denali National Park. Though I couldn’t really set up a tripod on a moving train, I still managed a few good shots. I love the vibrant colors in this one.
It was really hard to choose my favorite this week, but one had to bubble to the top. This week, the Hawaiian puka won out. A tropical beach, the lighting of a warm sunset, and a long exposure capturing the motion of mini waterfalls as the seawater spills back into the wave from whence it came. Life is simpler on the beach…
