Greetings all! Another Friday, another week on Instagram. Yesterday was Thanksgiving in the States – a day of friends, family, and much feasting (and of course I had my camera close by). I had only one reasonable plate, but I still managed to eat too much. It’s tough with so much amazing food!
A very happy Thanksgiving to all of you out there; I’m thankful to have so many people see my photography every week.
As for the photos this week, this first grid photo was from this week’s photo challenge, “experimental.” I tried something new, that I’ve always been curious to try – focus stacking. Read all about it and see the final result here.
Speaking of experimenting, I keep trying new things on my Instagram account. This week, I played more with different dimensions for my grids, including a 1×3 (later), and this 2×2. This was taken in Denali National Park, from the bus. We had several days of this magical mist. Such remarkably beautiful landscapes there.
Next, the aforementioned 1×3. It shows a bit larger here than it does on my Instagram profile, so it’s a bit harder to see the full effect (check out my Instagram account to see the original). I love the autumn colors we get in the Pacific Northwest!

Next is a simple two-panel from Hawaii. The colors are especially vibrant in the tropics. Everything grows; everything is alive. I was drawn to the contrast between the white sand and bright greens.. with just a touch of color.
Finally, my favorite photo this week is a simple one. This was my submission for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness. The simple pattern of the stretching branches is simply mesmerizing.
