Happy Friday! This week featured quite a bit of Alaska. I took so many photos there; I hope you don’t mind.
I’m also just beginning to play around with Instagram stories. They’re all the rage nowadays, and I haven’t really used them before, so we’ll see how it goes!
This first photo is from my most recent post on crossing the Red River during our backpacking trip in Lake Clark National Park. The scenery is beautiful, but the water sure is cold! Check out that post here.
Next is my submission for last week’s Monochrome Madness by Leanne Cole. I really like the simplicity of this photo and all the empty space. The theme for this one was “up in the air,” and it was taken during our desert road trip last year. This is an osprey flying over Shadow Mountain Lake near my parent’s cabin in Colorado.
Next is my only grid this week. This was a scene from the road that snakes through Denali National Park. There were no bad views in this amazing slice of nature.
From chilly to hot, from one noncontiguous state to the other, this is Hawaii! The thing I love most about this picture is the fact that there is very little editing done. The sky there really is that blue, the trees that green. With all the stress of the holidays, I could use a touch of relaxation in paradise…
Next, another scene from Denali National Park, though this one was from the trail instead of the bus. I love the muted colors in this one, with that path inviting you to explore onward.
Finally, my favorite this week was from a fun photo excursion we took last fall to the Boardman Tree Farm. This is a popular spot for photographers in the area, and they’re sadly cutting it down. Before they did, we were determined to check it out, and what’s better than playing with a costume? We had far too much fun that day.
