I'm traveling! See the latest at www.bigtinyworld.com!

Oh boy, this week was tough!  I really like these images this week, and I hope you do too.  But liking them so much did make it difficult to choose my favorites.

This first one looks back on the single road that stretches into Denali National Park.  We spent an entire day on a bus just like that one, hopping out periodically to snap a few shots like this one.  We had clouds while we were there, but they added some interesting texture to the sky.  You can read all about that journey here.

Next, a shot from atop Hawaii’s famed Mauna Kea.  It’s an incredible feeling to be so high above the clouds, and the sunsets there just can’t be beat.  You can read about our full photo excursion to Hawaii here.

Next, something a bit closer to home.  I love this picture, because the scene was so random.  Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have shot the beach at Seaside with this kind of lighting, but the silhouette with the bubbles had me reaching for my camera.

Next, another national park, Yosemite.  I love this park, and I can’t wait to go back at a time when I can explore it more (much of the park was closed when we went – which also scared away most of the tourists!).  This was a chilly morning at El Capitan, but snow just adds a magical element to any photo.  You can read my Yosemite stories here.

Getting into my top three here, this is a shot from the Astoria shoreline.  This bridge spans a staggering four miles across the expansive mouth of the Columbia River.  This was my submission for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness last week.

Finally, these last two were sooo hard to choose between.  This was my Weekly Wow – the scene from atop Zion’s (in)famous Angels Landing.  Some clouds came in at just the right time to diffuse the harsh light.  You can read that post here, and be sure to follow my blog to be notified of when I post the photostory of the full hike later this week.

Finally, one had to win out.  I considered also posting this photo as a Weekly Wow.  The scenery at Bryce Canyon was simply stunning.  I still have more stories and lots of photos to share from our recent trip to Utah.

I’m also excited to announce that I will be showing both of these last two photos at a local gallery, Blue Sky Gallery between 4/3 (evening) and 4/8.  The gallery provides a single wall for local artists to sign up and show their work, which is pretty cool.  So if you’re in town, stop by to see the full display!
