I'm traveling! See the latest at www.bigtinyworld.com!

Welcome to a new week!  Last week, Instagram saw some chilly images from Yosemite, a couple of beaches, the Milky Way, and beautiful Bryce!  Which was your favorite?

This first picture is of Yosemite Falls in the selfsame national park.  We came upon these falls in the afternoon, and we loved the rainbow they cast.  We resolved to return in the morning to get sunrise on the wall and catch that rainbow… not quite thinking that our intended vantage would be the wrong angle for the rainbow.  Whoops!

This is a long-exposure shot from a rocky Hawaiian shoreline.  We nearly completed a full circuit of the Big Island, starting in Kona and working our way to Hilo, taking pictures all along the way.  You can read all of our Hawaiian adventures here.  I need more lazy photography vacations…

This is another shot from Yosemite’s famed Three Brothers.  I didn’t quite make it to our chosen viewpoint, but that also means I don’t have the same photos as the rest of our group, so I’m ok with that.  This was also my submission for this week’s Monochrome Madness by Leanne Cole.

Here’s another from Yosemite – a drive-by.  I literally shot this out the car window as we drove past, but I really like how it turned out.  Never underestimate the passing scenery!

My Oregonian readers (and others) will recognize this spot: Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach.  The beach was particularly foamy that day, so I had to photograph it.

I really need to get out more this summer to do some Milky Way shooting.  My energy doesn’t really last long past 9pm, so that’s difficult, but I do love seeing the night sky.  I can’t see too many stars from within the city, and clouds shroud the city for half of the year, so I love looking at photos like this one from Crater Lake.

It was tough deciding between these last two images, but this one won out.  I might be somewhat biased, though, as Bryce is my newest wonder in my photo collection.  I love the contours etched out by the contrasting sun and shadows, by the snow and rock.  Bryce Canyon is just an amazing place, and I’m anxious to return.  You can read the post from which this photo originates – our first impressions of this park – here.

I’ve started something new on Instagram: #NoRegrets.  Every photo posted represents a moment in which I realized an opportunity.  You can read all of those mini stories on my Instagram.

Stay tuned for a new set next week!
