I'm traveling! See the latest at!

Happy Monday once again!

Unsurprisingly, this was another difficult week to rank, but here goes!

This first one is from our hike on the Savage Alpine Trail in Denali National Park.  It was cloudy, but it was such a beautiful experience in that remarkable park.  Next time, we’ll have to stay long enough for the clouds to clear so we can see the grand mountain in person!

Next, a scene from home.  This is a nearby beach, and the lighting that day really wasn’t all that conducive to photography.  However, I loved all the puffs of sea foam on the beach, so I couldn’t resist.  I ended up getting some intriguing silhouettes here, so I’m happy I brought the camera out anyway.

This one was the reward for trekking up the little-known path that made a local hike.  It passed petroglyphs and crossed this creek three times.  The trail was barely populated – just the way we like it!  We were pleased to have been let in on this little gem. You can read all about it right here.

Next, one of my favorite scenes from our trip to Hawaii.  I raced back and forth at the summit of Maura Kea to get just the right sunstar here.  Unfortunately, it was at high altitude, and I was not acclimated.  I was light-headed and out of breath, but my excitement for this view drove me forward.

Then we get into a simple monochrome image from Bryce Canyon.  I love how this one turned out.  While the fiery oranges and reds are a marvel to behold, the black and white is just as stunning.  This was also my submission this week for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness.

This next one is a bit of an oldie.  Aaron planned a weekend vacation for us, and I knew only that we were going somewhere.  He loves to plan these surprise trips, and I love discovering it as we go.  In this case, we wound up on the San Juan Islands – the farthest north you can go without quite breaching Canada.  This particular sunset was divine.

Finally, my favorite this week is another shot from Bryce.  I simply love this park! (Can you tell?)  The snow adds a magical layer to the whole scene, and I couldn’t get enough.  You can read about this adventurous day where we were lured by the trails right here.

We’ll be out of the country for the next week, so I won’t be able to post much, and I therefore won’t have a recap post like this next Monday.  I will try to post what I can to Instagram, though, and just know I’ll come back with lots of beautiful Norway pictures to share!

As a bonus, here’s what I posted to 500px this week:
