I'm traveling! See the latest at www.bigtinyworld.com!

I’ve been keeping my Sunday posts silent, but I miss talking about these featured photos, so I’d like to change it up a bit.  I also feel posts have been trending more to travel and away from the actual photography I love so much.  Therefore, I’d like to talk more about photography in my Sunday posts, though you can still look forward to adventures near and far on Wednesdays.

To aid me, I’ll be using The Daily Post‘s weekly challenges for inspiration.  They have both a content challenge and a photo challenge.  I thought it would be interesting to combine the two.  We’ll see how this goes!

This week’s post challenge is animal; the photo challenge is H2O.

This picture was taken at Diamond Lake, a resort near Crater Lake, Central Oregon.  After a late night of Cards Against Humanity, the rest of our group wanted to sleep in.  However, after a damp day and low clouds, I had a hunch we’d get some beautiful mist first thing in the morning.

I was right.

Fortunately, I’m conditioned to rise at 5am each morning (even on the weekends), so I was ready to go.  I stood on the frozen dock long before even the fishermen, and the scene was simply stunning.  I was the only one there.  It was silent and breathtaking.

Others in our group vowed to get up early the next morning, but by then, the sky was dry and the eerie magic gone.

Photos simply couldn’t do that morning justice; the experience was remarkable.

And I’m thankful I was up early enough to witness it.

Do you have any photos of animals with water?  Please share links in the comments; I’d love to see them!
