Another fun set this week.
I’ve been experimenting (again) with a few things on Instagram to improve visibility, and I have a few more ideas. Look forward to my feed continuing to improve!
This first image was from my bush plane flight to the backwoods of Alaska to backpack and chase bears. It was an unforgettable trip. If you missed those stories, you can find them all right here.
Next, an image from home. The sky was on fire this night, and it was just beautiful. I just happened to be out and about, shooting the Portland Winter Light Festival, so I couldn’t help but aim my camera skyward.
This winter shot was from our trip to Yosemite. I fell in love with national parks during winter while on this trip, and we visited Bryce and Zion this year (those stories are still in progress here). You can find all of my Yosemite stories here.
While others were shooting Bridal Veil Falls, I was transfixed by this perfect reflection on the near shore.
This was my submission this week for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness. Cannon Beach was particularly foggy on this particular morning, and I snatched this opportunity at an interesting silhouette.
Next, a scene from tropical Hawaii. This was from our visit to Cape Kumukahi (Hawaii’s east point), where the waves were crazy and the piles of lava rock were intriguing. That paradise sky and those stunningly clear waters…
I had a tough time deciding between these last two photos. While this one looks somewhat similar to the above, the snow should be a hint that those waters are much much colder. Believe it or not, but that island was completely invisible the night prior – hidden by a white-out blizzard. You can read about that visit here (on our travel blog).
And finally, this week’s favorite is from our amazing hike to the top of Angels Landing in Zion National Park. The views there are phenomenal, and I’d love more time to explore that beautiful park. That photostory was posted this week, and you can read it here.
